UAHT TRiO Student Success Club Opens 'Blessing Box' on Hope Campus

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana TRiO Student Success Club opened a “Blessing Box” on the Hope campus. The community-based project aims to supply food and snacks to those in need. “The Blessing Box will help students and the community with food insecurities and hopefully be a blessing to all families,” said Ruby Lopez, TRiO Student Success Club member.

Bryan Smith, UAHT TRiO Director, said that TRiO students are always excited to work on community service projects.“When students get involved in community service, they not only help others, but they also develop leadership skills and realize how their actions can positively impact the community,” Smith said.

The UAHT campus family and the community are encouraged to “be a blessing” by donating when they can and, in turn, are welcome to take what they need.
