First Responder’s Day was held May 22 as part of the fourth annual EMS Appreciation Week festivities. Free breakfast, lunch, and dinner was served for all first responders including EMS, law enforcement and firefighters. Breakfast was served at the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, and lunch and dinner was provided at all Texarkana Big Jake’s Bar-B-Que locations. Live radio remotes were held, and Mayors Bob Bruggeman and Allen Brown were present.

Grand presenting sponsors were Texarkana Emergency Center and Farmers Bank & Trust. Other participating sponsors were Eagle Distributing, Ark-La-Tex 100 Club, For All Brandkind, Ledwell, Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, Texarkana Funeral Home, Fox Sports 1400 AM Texarkana, Big Jake’s Bar-B-Que, First Baptist Church Texarkana, and LifeNet.
