ARK-LA-TEX 100 Club Annual Meeting
/The Ark-La-Tex 100 Club held its Annual Meeting on August 28 in the Patman Room in the Truman Arnold Center at Texarkana College. Grants were given to nine local first responder agencies, including the New Boston Police Department (purchase of K-9 and training for handler), De Kalb Volunteer Fire Department (structural fire helmets and traffic safety vests), Maud Volunteer Fire Department (bunker gear), Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department (thermal imaging cameras), Bowie County Sheriff Office (repairs to helicopter), Miller County OEM (repair leak in roof of command trailer), Texarkana Arkansas Fire Department (rescue helmets, headlamps, safety belts, rescue jack and gas detector), Miller County Sheriff Office (Level IV plates for vests) and C-5 Volunteer Fire Department (equipment to wash gear to decrease cancer risk).
