On November 11, Opening Ceremonies were held in the Truman Arnold Student Center for the Texas Veterans Commission’s Veterans Benefits Claims Center, in partnership with Texarkana College. This is the first time the Texas Veterans Commission has partnered with a higher education entity to house a Benefits Claims Center on a college campus. Dr. Jason Smith, President of Texarkana College, welcomed guests, and Tiffany Griffie, Claims Benefits Advisor for the Veterans Benefit Claims Center, made remarks. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held, and comments were made by Mike Malone, President of the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce.
