Four States Living Tribute To Women
Paula McGuire’s father, Ed Archambo, started Basic Software Systems 41 years ago. Humbled that he has trusted her to take the company forward into the future, Paula recently took the reigns as owner/president and strives to continue its legacy. Although her father started the business during a time where technology and the industry were vastly different than it is now, he stood the test of so many changes in the past four decades. Likewise, Paula is excited and committed to do the same.
“Without a doubt, my proudest personal accomplishment would be parenthood. Being a part of raising four children with two (CheyAnne and Candous) becoming successful adults with great careers has been incredible to me and my husband, Chanse,” Paula McGuire explains. “Our last two cabooses, twins Hannah and Brock, are incredible teenagers who couldn’t be more different from each other. I enjoy watching them become their own persons.”
Spending time with her family no matter what that time looks like is important to Paula. Even if it consists of getting kids to various events and social activities, Paula realizes how fast time flies so any time she has with them is very valued.
A passionate individual who lives by strong conviction, Paula constantly pursues a healthy balance of fun and work. In her spare time, she enjoys serving her community. She is a current Veritas Academy board member and has participated in various roles in the church’s Women’s Ministry at Fellowship Bible Church. She and Chanse are also part of the hospitality team at Fellowship Bible Church and lead a small group in their home.
Paula’s parents have been her strongest and most consistent influence in her life. Their godly principles and integrity have been a beacon throughout her life. “Find your passion (no matter what it is) and pursue it” is Paula’s motto. She has always encouraged her daughters to find something where they can use their gifts while helping to support their families. “I know, by experience, you can do both at the same time,” she says. “If you marry and/or have a family or remain single, look for ways to leave a legacy and to serve others.”
“Don’t cry over spilled milk.”

The Way Penny Allred Sees Her
I have known Paula McGuire for over 20 years and have watched her incredible journey of unwavering faith, life challenges, and personal success. She has a love for the Word of God and personally lives by its principles. She is a true worshiper, and that has been her strength to endure when life demanded it. I love watching her with her children and family … she loves them with a great passion and ministers to each of them in her own special way. Her character, intelligence, integrity, and work ethic are all a reflection of who she is in Christ.
I have worked with her side-by-side, and now I work for her as the CEO of Basic Software Systems. When her father and mother entrusted her with the ownership of the 41-year-old company they had started, she stepped up with the determination to build on that foundation, and she has done just that. Paula and her husband, Chanse, seek the Lord every step of the way with their lives, family, ministry, and business. Paula has a huge heart for others with high personal standards that have earned her the respect of her peers and all of those that know and love her. I am honored to call her “friend.”
