TISD Distinguished Alumni Nominations

TISD REQUESTING NOMINATIONS FOR DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI

Texarkana, TX – Texarkana Independent School District is now accepting nominations for their annual Distinguished Alumni Award.

The program, which began in 1992, recognizes the outstanding personal and professional achievements of TISD alumni.  “TISD takes great pride in the accomplishments of our graduates and wishes to honor those who have had extraordinary distinction and success in his/her field or endeavors,” stated Tina Veal-Gooch, TISD Executive Director of Public Relations. “Alumni nominated for the Distinguished Alumni Award should be a model to current and future Texas High School alumni in terms of their professional, leadership and ethical standards.”

Award guidelines are:  Must have graduated from Texas High School or Dunbar High School at least 15 years prior to nomination; Must be distinguished in his or her chosen profession, business or life work; Must have an appreciation for, and exemplify qualities demonstrating the goals of public education, leadership and ethical standards; Must have demonstrated service to community and others, or whose achievements have brought benefit to his/her fellow citizens.

Nominations are being accepted through December 15 and can be found on the TISD website at www.txkisd.net.  They can be submitted to: Distinguished Alumni Selection Committee, 4241 Summerhill Road, Texarkana, TX  75503 or faxed to 903.792.2632.
