Kiwanis Club of Texarkana
/Kiwanis Club of Texarkana held its Annual Awards and Grant Presentation Banquet on July 10 at Texarkana College’s Truman Arnold Student Center. Twenty-four local organizations were awarded grants, the Dr. Tom and Bess Wilbanks Endowed Scholarship and the Kiwanis Scholarship at Texarkana College were funded, and three local youths were awarded for their outstanding leadership qualities in the community. Total monetary funds awarded within the community, which are primarily raised by the Kiwanis Annual Pancake Day fundraiser, topped $23,000. This includes grants, scholarships, youth leadership awards, and service leadership projects.
Several awards included: Shelby Dunphy-Day, recipient of the Rick Lindsey Thumbs Up Leadership Award; Jenna Williamson, Sophomore of the Year recipient; Allie Graves, recipient of the Stuart Daniels Leadership Award; and David Wall, Kiwanian of the Year and Legion of Honor.
