Women for the Arts held its Party with Picassos Reception and Art Exhibit on April 17 in the Regional Arts Center. A preview of the art by the featured artists and celebrity artists was held during the event. Other activities included a giveaway by Crocker’s Jewelers, wine and hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction.

Jeannie Knod Edwards served as this year’s signature artist. The event paired the unlikeliest of artists, “celebrity” bankers, lawyers, doctors, dentists, educators, entrepreneurs, businessmen and women with professional artists acting as coaches to create original works of art. An online art auction was then held from April 17-26 featuring the artwork.

The Mary Jane Orr Awards were presented to: celebrity Sonja Hubbard with artist Amber Fenix for “Metamorphosis”; celebrity Jocelyn Kemp with artist Cathy Van Herpen for “You’ve Got A Friend”; and celebrity Sherri Waters-Clem with artist Sam Reep for “Consider the Lilies.”
